FAQ

Questions we hear a lot.

Still wondering? The chat in the corner answers these too.

How do I adopt a dog?

Fill out our one adoption application. It covers every dog, so you only do it once. We read every application, check references, and set up a meet and greet when there is a good match. Start the application

Is there one application for all dogs?

Yes. One application covers every dog. If a new dog matches what you told us, we can email you about that dog. Apply once

I already applied. Can I update my application?

Yes. Ask for an update link on the application page. We email you a link that opens your application with your answers filled in, so you can change what you need and send it again. Get my update link

What is the adoption fee?

Ask us about the dog you are interested in and we will tell you the fee and what it includes. See the dogs

Where do the dogs come from?

Our dogs are satos, the street dogs of Puerto Rico. They travel from Puerto Rico to the Midwest to meet their families. Meet the dogs

Where do you adopt to?

Mostly Wisconsin and Minnesota, and sometimes other states. Tell us where you live on the application. Apply

Do I need a fenced yard?

Not always. Some dogs need one and some do not. Each dog's page says what that dog needs, and the application asks about your home. See the dogs

Are the dogs good with kids, cats or other dogs?

Each dog's page has stamps for kids, cats and dogs based on what the rescue knows. Ask about any dog for more detail. See the dogs

How do I hear about new dogs?

Sign up for New Dog Alerts. You get an email when a new dog is available, without filling out an application. Get New Dog Alerts

Can I foster or help another way?

Yes. Tell us how you would like to help and we will be in touch. Sharing our dogs on Facebook and Nextdoor helps too. Contact us
